Job Summary:
- Primary responsibility for nursing care and patient safety during endoscopic/invasive procedures with or without sedation.
- Demonstrates interpersonal, critical thinking, and efficiency skills.
- Serves as a resource for students and new caregivers.
- Participates in quality improvement processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Pre-operative RN to assess patient needs and procedure requirements.
- Develops, implements, and communicates individualized care plans.
- Addresses patient comfort and health information requests.
- Applies aseptic practices and ensures compliance within the surgical team.
- Supports and educates patients and families.
- Utilizes evidence-based research to enhance patient outcomes.
- Evaluates and modifies care plans as needed, communicating changes to the healthcare team.
- Participates in activities to improve patient care and the healthcare environment.
- Documents equipment use and manages inventory for accurate charging and availability.
- Promotes organizational mission, vision, and values.
- May float to other departments or nursing units as needed.
- May be placed on-call during scheduled shifts.
Required Education:
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma.
Preferred Education:
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA).
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment start.
