Description:

Required: RNs must have one year of inpatient experience minimum in the related department with the trauma level shown below                
Required: One year of travel experience is preferred but will consider six months’ travel                
Required: All Candidates are expected to Float as needed       

Required: Weekends and holidays required. Float Pool position including floating to 34 bed PICU, 25 bed CICU, and 112 bed NICU. Can also float to acute care units.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
  • Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes changes in physician orders.
  • Assists physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
  • Monitors physiological data and intervenes as necessary.
  • Administers medications, regulates and monitors IV infusions and blood products.
  • Delivers competent patient care.
  • Communicates care plans with patients and families during hospital stay and discharge.
  • Provides information on hospital procedures to patients and families.
  • Refers patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegates tasks to support staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
  • Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a board-approved program.

Required Education

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
