Job Summary:

  • Provide patient care, including venipuncture, EKGs, assisting patients, and preparing for exams.
  • Assist physicians with procedures, take vital signs, and relay instructions to patients and families.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as managing medical records, completing forms, and using EMR systems.
  • Enter orders into EMR systems and prepare prescription refill requests for physician approval.
  • Inventory, order, and restock medical supplies.
  • Set up examination rooms and instruments following sterilization protocols.
  • Maintain logs for medications, testing, sterilization, and crash carts.
  • Dispose of expired medications and supplies per policy.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant work environment, adhering to legal regulations and PPE requirements.
  • Assist with medical chart maintenance and scheduling surgeries/procedures.
  • Perform proficient phlebotomy duties as required.
  • Handle appointment scheduling, patient registration, and insurance verification.
  • Perform pre-certification for procedures as necessary.
  • Adapt to a growing and changing environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant certificate course.
  • BLS certification (AHA).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Knowledge of electronic medical record or billing systems.
