Description:
Job Summary
Perform clinical, technical, service, and administrative tasks to support patient care.
Ensure patient care aligns with the philosophy of Beth Israel Medical Group.
Conduct diagnostic tests such as EKGs, lab tests, PFTs, and audiometry as ordered by physicians.
Admit patients to exam rooms, record vital signs, medical history, medication history, allergy history, height, and weight.
Maintain examination rooms and medical areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
Stock supplies, verify vendor deliveries, and manage inventory.
Document patient treatments, telephone communications, lab results, and daily checks (e.g., oxygen, emergency box).
Adhere to laboratory procedures, CLIA regulations, universal precautions, and OSHA standards.
Schedule appointments, process referrals, and update patient information, including insurance coverage and eligibility.
Handle front desk operations, including greeting patients, answering phones, and managing cash transactions.
Provide discharge instructions and notify patients of test results as directed by physicians.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
BLS certification.
Certification as a Medical Assistant from an approved school or two years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
Excellent phone manners, flexibility, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in computer data entry and ability to manage diversified responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
