Job Summary:
- Protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities while preventing illness and injury.

Job Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with UHS Hospitals policy.
- Ensure effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, and supplies.
- Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies.
- Participate in Nursing Shared Governance Model, unit councils, and improvement initiatives.
- Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.
- Incorporate nursing research and evidence-based practices into care.
- Support learning for new employees and students.
- Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties as assigned.
- Participate in the Clinical Ladder Program as expertise develops.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
- Unit-specific requirements as listed in the Compliance Matrix.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
- CCRN.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by the assigned unit.
