Job Summary

• Perform medical coding in an acute care setting.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payor guidelines, and federal billing regulations.
• Utilize 3M/HDS coding applications for inpatient and emergency department (ED) cases.
• Research and resolve coding-related issues.
• Provide training and guidance to other coders as needed.

Pay Range

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification.
• Proficiency in ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and Encoder software.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
• Three years of experience in medical coding, including inpatient and ED settings.

Preferred Qualifications

• AHIMA, RHIA, or RHIT certification.
• Experience with ICD-10 coding.
