Job Summary:
- Provide competent and appropriate nursing care to ICU patients, ensuring systematic, comprehensive, and accurate assessments.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in emergency equipment, procedures, and patient care delivery.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation, including patient education and progress toward outcomes.
- Promote patient satisfaction by responding professionally and courteously to patients, families, and coworkers.
- Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including using two patient identifiers and safe transfer techniques.
- Individualize patient care based on conditions, procedures, and anesthesia types, ensuring patient understanding and comfort.
- Contribute to the perioperative team by prioritizing patient care and adapting to changes in patient conditions.
- Perform pre-operative and post-operative assessments and education, involving patients and families in the process.
- Support timely completion of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) and evaluate orders for appropriateness based on surgery, age, and health status.
