Job Summary
Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with a range of health conditions, from simple to complex.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned group of patients, ensuring quality care delivery.
- Document patient responses to interventions and treatments, noting changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor and obtain physiological data, intervening as necessary.
- Administer prescribed medications, including initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products.
- Engage with patients and families to share care plans and provide discharge instructions.
- Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
- Refer patient care needs to appropriate personnel and delegate tasks to support staff.
General Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- One year of nursing experience.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, and procedures.
- Strong organizational, planning, and evaluation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to address cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a board-approved program.
Required Education
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
