Responsible for assembling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and storing procedure trays, surgical trays, and equipment.
Distributes and delivers disposable and durable medical equipment, case carts, and supplies to meet the needs of the Operating Room, Nursing Units, Ancillary Departments, and Clinics.
Operates and monitors sterilization equipment.
Disassembles carts and follows Universal Precautions for decontamination.
Sterilizes and disinfects medical equipment and instruments, packages clean supplies, maintains records, and transports sterilized items.
Assembles sterilized instruments, checks for cleanliness and impairment, and ensures proper functioning of power equipment.
Tracks instruments using labeling processes, engravers, and documentation of missing items or replacements.
Communicates inventory status with Central Processing staff and Surgery Charge Nurse, including order updates and backorders.
Responds to emergency situations to ensure timely delivery of supplies for trauma and add-on cases.
Utilizes technology for accurate record-keeping in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Provides on-the-job training to new associates.

May be required to work overtime, float to other departments, or be on-call during scheduled shifts.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.
Experience with computers and ability to learn relevant software.
Capability to function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
Regular attendance during scheduled business hours or shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a hospital or clinic operating room.
