Job Summary
- Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
- Perform daily quality control calibration checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Administer radioactive material to patients as per physician’s orders and prescribed protocols.
- Maintain department documentation, including logs, manuals, charge documents, and equipment problem reports.
- Conduct quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests while adhering to radiation safety guidelines (ALARA principle).
- Manage patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
- Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use.
- Verify radiopharmaceutical delivery and activity levels before administration.
- Perform CT procedures according to prescribed protocols for uniformity and accuracy.
- Assess and respond to patient needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
Required Qualifications
- New York State License (L.R.T).
- ARRT certification in Radiography and CT.
- BLS certification.
- At least 1 year of CT experience.
- Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program.
