Job Summary:
To provide patient care and excellent customer service in the Texas Children’s healthcare setting. To assist in the coordination of flow and provider schedules to effectively manage patient care.
Job Responsibilities:
-Welcomes and interacts with all patients, families, and visitors in a professional, timely, age appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner.
-Responds to customer questions with prompt information and service related to appointment status, wait time, or unanticipated problems.
-Communicates with patients, staff, and providers regarding patient arrivals, delays, and clinic processes.
-Proactively approaches dissatisfied customers and implements customer service recovery measures.
-Identifies prolonged wait times for patients in the waiting room and reports to the clinic manager.
-Participate in meetings to assist in planning optimal patient flow for each session or day.
-Attends staff meetings or signs attendance records and attends mandatory training and development activities as required.
-Notifies licensed staff or supervisor when unable to complete assigned tasks or responsibilities.
Required Skills & Experience:
-Two (2) years of related experience.
-Knowledge of nursing and medical assistant patient care tasks.
-Knowledge of managed care processes, appointment scheduling, and medical terminology.
-Ability to operate a personal computer and basic patientcare or office equipment.
-Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to demonstrate good time management skills.
-Ability to demonstrate quick decision making skills and self initiated work behaviors.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-Bilingual skills in Spanish and English.
-Experience in a healthcare setting or customer service focused industry.
-Experience in outpatient clinic operations.
-Clinical experience in reproductive health or fertility care.
Required Education:
-High School Diploma.
OR
-GED.

-College degree.

-EMT I - Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate (Texas Department of State Health Services).
-EMT P - Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (Texas Department of State Health Services).
-LIC PAR - Licensed Paramedic (Texas Department of State Health Services).
-NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant (National Center for Competency Testing).
-NRCMA - National Registered Certified Medical Assistant (National Association of Health Professionals).
-RMA AAH (American Allied Health).
-RMA AAMP (American Association of Medical Personnel).
-RMA AMT (American Medical Technologist).
