Job Summary:
To provide the following services in a timely, efficient, safe, friendly, and enthusiastic manner: patient transportation services, patient escort dispatch relief services, delivery of patient-related equipment, lab specimens, medications and patient equipment cleaning.
Job Responsibilities:
-Provides patient transportation/escort services.
-Transports/escorts patients promptly to and from patient rooms and patient care service areas utilizing proper patient transportation equipment within established time frame, as indicated on automated dispatch system (TeleTracking) and observed by manager.
-Consistently verifies patient I.D. information against patient dispatch information to ensure accurate transportation of patients to the appropriate areas.
-Receives patient chart from patient’s assigned nurse prior to transport of patient.
-Maintains confidentiality of patient information at all times.
-Displays a working knowledge of policies and procedures relating to patient transportation, delivery of patient-related equipment, and specimen delivery.
-Demonstrates proper mechanical skills in operating and maneuvering transportation devices, (i.e., wheelchairs, stretchers, IV poles, carts, wagons, high chairs, and bedside tables).
-Communicates with patient and family in an age-appropriate manner.

Two positions will be for 2nd shift (2:30pm – 11:00pm).
Please do not pay over (USD)15 for the role and parking WILL be provided by the department
Required Skills & Experience:
-Knowledge of patient transportation procedures, patient-related equipment, the Hospital’s physical layout, the location of patient rooms and patient service areas, patient escort dispatch software, Hospital and departmental policies and procedures, and safety procedures.
-The ability to provide excellent customer service
-Effective verbal and written communication skills
-Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
-The ability to operate and deliver patient-related equipment to designated areas
-Ability to perform multiple functions within Patient Transportation Services, such as: patient transportation, equipment and specimen delivery, and dispatch duties.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-Previous experience in hospital setting.
