Description:

Floating between departments and or local locations within 20 miles is required.

Job Summary:
-Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
-Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
-Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
-Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
-Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.
-Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy.
-Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.
-Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
-Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
-Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to fast-paced environment.
-At least one 13 week previous travel assignment.
-Two (2) years current experience required in specialty.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
-EPIC experience; can train on-site. Required Education: 
One of the following is required:
-Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN).
-Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).

Preferred Education: 
-N/A

Required Certifications & Licensure: 
-State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License. 
-BLS certification completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
-ACLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
-PALS certification completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
-Traveler must pass the BCA (basic cardiac arrhythmias) testing during the first week of assignment. Travelers that do not pass the BCA test will be dismissed.
